How Do Medical Dressings Work?
The way in which dressings work will depend on which kind of dressing you’re using, as some of them simply provide a physical barrier over a wound, while others actively help to speed up the healing process. In the past, most medical dressings simply consisted of a piece of cloth wrapped around a wound. But in the modern world, there are lots of different types of medical dressings in use, including gauze, plastic films, bandages, gels, foams, plasters, and more.
