What Is a Hydrophilic Catheter?
Hydrophilic catheters are a particular kind of urinary or Foley catheter that come equipped with their own lubricated coating. This is designed to make insertion of the catheter easier and less painful for patients.

How Does a Hydrophilic Catheter Work?
The way in which hydrophilic catheters work is quite simple: they're manufactured with a fine layer of pre-lubricated coating on the outside of the catheter's surface.
