What Is an IV Kit?
An IV kit, as the name implies, is a set of medical components, accessories, and items used for setting up an intravenous (IV) line. These kits are used in many hospitals worldwide to provide patients with fluids, medications, blood, and more.

How Does an IV Kit Work?
An IV kit gives you many of the components you need to start preparing an IV line, and each item has its own purpose and use. Medical gloves are included in many kits to keep the procedure clean and sanitary, for example, and pieces of tap may also be found in kits to help attach the IV line or cannula to the patient's body. Kits often contain gauge, wipes, and other essentials, too. These items can all be used to get an IV line ready before it is connected to an IV bag and inserted into a patient’s body to deliver fluids and drugs.
