Product Description

3M 1243A - INTEGRATOR, STEAM, MOVING FRONT, 2"X3/4", 1000 EA/CS, 2 PK/CS

An ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11140-1:2005 Class 5 Integrating Indicator for use in determining whether the sterilization process conditions were met inside each pack. Can be used in all 250-275 F sterilization cycles. As an internal pack monitor, the 3M Comply (SteriGage) Class 5 Steam Chemical Integrators offer immediate, accurate and easy to read method of monitoring the sterilization process conditions inside each pack. It can be used in all steam sterilizers. The easy-to-read moving front style has been shown to have a higher reading accuracy than color interpretation style indicators.

Comply (SteriGage) Chemical Integrator Type 5 Chemical Integrating Indicator, moving front design.

  • Moving front ink technology provides easy to read 'Accept or Reject' result.
  • Can be used in all 250 - 275F steam sterilization cycles.
  • Response correlates with a Biological Indicator at 3 time/temperature relationships under ideal steam sterilization conditions.
  • Confirmed by BSI, a leading global independent Product Testing Service Company, to meet the performance requirements of ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11140-1:2005 Class 5.
  • Size: 2 3/4" (5.1 1.9 cm).

Engineered to deliver immediate and accuratepack-by-pack steam sterilization assurance.

3M Comply SteriGage Chemical Integrators show whether each pack in aload has been exposed to the conditions necessary for sterilization to occur.SteriGage Chemical Integrators immediately detect failures resulting fromequipment malfunction or human error in packing, loading or operation.SteriGage Chemical Integrators provide precise results by detecting changesin all critical sterilization parameters before indicating an ACCEPT result.SteriGage Chemical Integrators in packs, trays, containers and peel pouchesassure you that all the critical parameters for steam sterilization have been met.

1. Accept or Reject at a glancewith moving front ink technology

Requires no color changeinterpretation. Field tests showhigher reading accuracy thancolor-change indicators.

2. For use in all FDA-cleared steam sterilization cycles: 250F, 270F, 273F, and 275F*

Eliminates the need to identify correct Type 6 cycle-specific emulating indicator and reduces your chemical indicator inventory.

3. Type 5 Integrating Indicator as defined by ISO 11140-1:2014

SteriGage Chemical Integrator results correlate with a BI at three time/temperature relationships.

4. Helps prevent costly infections

Identifies non-sterile instruments before they enter the sterile field.

5. Minimizes recalls and reprocessing

Helps identify sterilization process failures by isolating individual pack problems.

Available with extender for easy retrieval from pack in the OR Not constructed with raw materials that are known to contain lead.

Why is pack control important?

Internal pack monitoring verifies that the sterilant has penetrated to the point of placement in the pack and confirms that the specific exposure conditions have been met. By using internal chemical indicators you can detect local problems that sometimes occur due to human error, sterilizer malfunctions or sterilant qualityproblems. Even with a negative BI result, sometimes the sterilant may not penetrate individual packs.

What causes pack control failure?

  • There could be an air pocket in the steam sterilizer or a small leak in the vacuum system.
  • Poor quality or not enough sterilant.
  • The pack itself may be wrapped toodensely.
  • The load is packed too tightly for the sterilant to penetrate.
