Avanos Medical PNM-S1NC - Purple Sterile Individually Packaged ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes, 1 mL, 200/Case

Avanos PNM-S1NC ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes

NeoMed's syringes are designed to work seamlessly with most new or existing pumps on the market without introducing flow variances common with other oral dispensers.

  • 1 mL to 100 mL sizes available
  • Includes self-righting tip cap necessary for adherence to aseptic technique protocols
  • Low Dose syringes (1, 3, 6 mL) comply with recommendations outlined by the August 2016 GEDSA Position Statement
  • FDA 510(k) clearance allows both enteral and direct oral administration.
  • Offset tip, solid plunger, and o-ring designs minimize lipid loss, maximizing nutrition delivery
  • Our syringes are not made with BPA, DEHP, or Latex.

Avanos PNM-S1NC ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes Features & Benefits

  • Individually packaged sterile enteral syringes available in purple and orange in sizes: 1 mL, 3 mL, 6 mL, 12 mL, 20 mL, 35 mL, 60 mL, 100 mL
  • One-piece single molded barrel with ENFit connector significantly reduces the possibility of misconnections that may lead to wrong route administration.
  • Our syringes are not made with natural rubber latex, BPA, and DEHP.
  • Each syringe package has 1 tip cap included, so the nurse doesnt need to search for and open a separate package containing the tip cap.
  • NeoMeds NeoSecure plugged tip caps help secure contents for confident transport before use. They self-right on any hard surface for hands free placement, minimizing unnecessary handling. Self-righting plugged tip cap requires less handling and promotes aseptic technique.
  • Off-set tip delivers the fats/lipids first in a horizontally oriented syringe infusion pump.
  • Bold graduation markings facilitate accurate administration of nutrition.
  • Distal tip tab complies with ISO 80369-3:2016 W dimension to reduce trach tube misconnection risks.

Advance Features of Avanos PNM-S1NC Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes

Self-righting plugged tip caps are designed to reduce excessive handling during assembly

Off-set tip designed to deliver colostrum first when placed in pumps that have horizontal orientations

Bold graduation markings facilitate accurate administration of nutrition

Validated in the Medfusion 3500 and 4000 and BBraun Perfusor pumps

Avanos PNM-S1NC ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes Indications for Use:

The device is indicated for use as a dispenser, a measuring device and a fluid transfer device. It is used to deliver fluids into the body orally or enterally. It is intended to be used in clinical or home care settings by users ranging from clinicians to laypersons (under the supervision of a clinician) in all age groups.

Contraindication of Avanos PNM-S1NC ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes

  • The NeoMed NeoConnect Syringe is intended to connect to products with ENFit compatible male connectors.
  • This device is intended for oral / enteral applications only. Do not use this device with small bore connectors from other healthcare applications as it has the potential to misconnect.

Avanos PNM-S1NC ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes Warnnings

  • For syringe sizes 6mL and below, to ensure dose accuracy, the moat (See Figure 1) must be free of fluids prior to patient administration.
  • The syringe is intended for one-time use. Each syringe should be used for one dispensing on one patient.
  • Do not autoclave or re-use syringe as this may increase the risk of leakage or biological infection.
  • Tip caps are a choking hazard. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not modify device as this may lead to leakage, inadequate nutrition delivery or patient harm.
  • Do not use device if syringe tip is visibly blocked as this may lead to inadequate nutrition delivery.
  • Do not use if device is damaged as this may lead to device contamination or inadequate nutrition delivery.
  • Improper syringe selection or syringe profile from a pump menu may lead to inadequate delivery of nutrition to the patient.

Avanos PNM-S1NC ENFit Compliant NeoConnect Oral/Enteral Syringes Directions

  • Follow physician's instructions or hospital protocol in opening package and use of contents.
  • Always use technique that minimizes risk of infection. Syringe should be connected to a male ENFit compatible connector during filling and removal of air bubbles to reduce the risk of dosing volume inaccuracies.
  • Fully depress the plunger before filling syringe. Draw liquid (e.g. formula or mother's milk) into syringe. For accurate measurement, use the black leading edge of the gasket toward the plunger tip. Do not fill and attempt delivery past the maximum graduation.
  • To expel excess air bubbles, hold syringe with tip pointing up. Tap side of syringe to allow bubbles to rise toward tip. Draw back slightly on plunger, then push plunger upward to eject air in barrel and tip. Repeat until bubbles are eliminated and re-verify dose.
  • For syringe sizes 6m1 and below, ensure the moat (See Figure 1) is free of fluids and re-verify dose (repeat as necessary).

  • Secure the tip cap on the syringe and label until ready to use (label not included).
  • Before feeding, to minimize potential for clogging, mix any supplements or additives thoroughly to achieve uniform consistency.
  • Enteral feeding should be administered via NeoMed NeoConnect feeding tubes with ENFit connectors.
  • For direct oral administration, DoseMate"' may be attached to syringe (sold separately) for patient comfort.
  • Dispose of syringe as required by hospital protocols and local or national regulations.

Eccentric Tips have the lowest fat loss.

NeoMed funded an independent study* to look at fat loss in a variety of enteral syringe types. This study was part of a comprehensive review of the design elements of syringes and fat loss during HBM delivery. The results of this independent study may have long range implications for the NICU and their choice of enteral delivery syringes: This study identified a statistically significant relationship between fat loss in horizontally positioned 60 mL syringes and aspects of their design.
