Product Description

Baxter BXC21002 - FILTER, STERILE SYR, SUPOR 25MM, .2UM, 50 EA/CS

Supor Syringe Filter 25mm 0.2 m

Sterile syringe filters assure quality control of sterile drug preparation. Prepare injectable drug products requiring rapid filtration, higher throughput with low protein binding, and broad drug compatibility. Double luer lock design for secure needle and syringe attachment. Effective filtration area is 2.8 cm2.

  • Syringe Filter Supor 25mm Green 0.2 Micron.
  • Sterile syringe filters assure quality control when used fro sterile drug preparation.
  • Used to prepare injectable drug products requiring rapid filtration, higher throughput with low protein binding, and broad drug compatibility.
  • Double luer lock design for secure needle and syringe attachment.
  • Effective filtration area is 2.8 cm Square.
Acrodisc Syringe Filters with Supor membrane have superior performance in a variety of sterile laboratory filtration applications. Supor (polyethersulfone) membrane is low protein binding and provides fast filtration and high throughput. All sterile Acrodisc syringe filters are individually packaged in blister packs and sterilized using gamma irradiation to eliminate potential or harmful extractables common with other sterilization methods such as EtO. Acrodisc PF syringe filters with unique built-in prefilter can be used for increased throughput of viscous or particulate-laden solutions.

Supor Membrane

For high throughputs, fast filtration, and low protein binding. Not recommended for use with some ketones.

Performance

Acrodisc and Acrodisc PF Syringe Filters with Supor Membrane

Built-in prefilter enhances throughput of viscous, particulate-laden, or proteinaceous solutions.

Acrodisc and Acrodisc PF syringe filters with 0.2 m Supor membrane were challenged with calf serum and a bacterial culture (107 cfu/mL) at a constant pressure of 1.4 bar (140 kPa, 20 psi).

Instructions for Use (Aseptic Technique)

  1. Before filling the syringe with sample solution, draw approximately 1 mL of air into the syringe. This will allow the air to follow the sample out of the syringe. This "air purge" minimizes fluid retention within the filter device.
  2. Fill syringe with solution to be filtered. Note: Use of syringes smaller than 10 mL can generate excessive pressures on the filter which may exceed maximum operating pressure. Exceeding the maximum operating pressure may result in membrane or housing rupture.
  3. Peel off the backing from the blister package. Holding the blister in one hand and the filled syringe in the other, secure (without excessive force) the filled syringe to the filter device with a twisting motion.
  4. Apply gentle thumb pressure to begin filtration (a gentle pressure assures maximum throughput).
Note: As the filter removes the particulate, filtration will become more difficult (the syringe plunger will become harder to push) and pressure rapidly increases on the filter. Change filters when resistance becomes excessive. Failure to change filter may result in housing rupture as the maximum operating pressure is exceeded, or membrane rupture, leading to particulate contaminating the filtrate.
  5. These filters are for Single Use Only
