The needle is now protected for transport but the syringe is not permanently locked.To give injection, slide shield back to its original position exposing the needle. Perform injection following facility protocol.To permanently lock syringe, extend shield forward until it clicks, then twist the shield in either direction until it clicks again to indicate final-lock.
