  • Provides more effective distribution of suction and fluid flow over the entire drain.
  • Improves collateral drainage by providing alternate pathways around obstructions.
  • Minimizes aspiration of delicate tissue and dot infiltration with narrow ducts and recessed portals.
  • Lessens patient discomfort during drain removal by helping prevent tissue ingrowth.
  • Ensures strength and reliability with unique structural design.
  • Hemaduct drains are made of 50ft silicone and are available in round and flat versions, with or without a trocar.

This advanced design offers the following advantages:

  • Hemaduct Drains are made of soft silicone and are available in round and flat two-piece designs, with or without a trocar.
  • Provides alternative pathways around obstructions.
  • Designed to help assist in minimizing tissue in-growth through a no-hole design, narrow ducts and recessed perforations.
  • Provides suction and fluid flow over the entire drain.
  • Not made from natural rubber latex.
  • Silicone is barium impregnated for x-ray detection.

Indications for Use

Cardinal Health Channel Drains, round and flat silicone, are indicated for use with selected Cardinal Health evacuators for closed wound drainage following head and neck, orthopedic, abdominal, ENT, OB/GYN, plastic, neurosurgery, thoracic and cardiovascular (channel drains only) procedures.

Warnings

  • If an air-tight seal between the drain and the skin where the drain emerges is not achieved, the air leak must be rectified or the system must be converted to open drainage.
  • An airtight seal between all system components (drain, adaptor and reservoir) is necessary for proper system function.
  • Evacuators should be emptied and re-activated when required per hospital protocol.
