Suggested Instructions for Using Firlit-Kluge Urethral Stent
- Measure the urethra and cut the long segment of the stent to the correct length.
- At the appropriate time during the procedure place the stent through the urethra to the bladder.
- Position the molded silicone ball at the glans meatus.
- Using absorbable suture, anchor the silicone ball to the glans meatus.
- Following the procedure a dressing is applied, and the distal excess portion beyond the ball may be trimmed.
NOTE: The stent is left indwelling 4 to 7 days. During the healing process the sutures are absorbed
and the stent should be expelled spontaneously during micturition.
CAUTION: Sterile if the package is unopened or undamaged. Do not use if package is broken.
