  • 2 Gloves, Non-Latex, Sterile.
  • 1 Procedure Checklist.

  • 1 Prep Pad, Alcohol.
  • 1 Prep Pad, Skin Protectant.
  • 1 Tape Strips, Anchor (3 per).

Before Opening

  • Assemble any supplementary components.
  • Wash hands.
  • If applicable, carefully remove old dressing and discard in appropriate receptacle.

NOTE: Components are generally arranged in order of use from top to bottom.

  • Open package containing sterile insertion/dressing kit and Safety Infusion Set device.
  • Remove CSR wrapped kit and place onto work surface with folds up.
  • Remove face mask from outer folds of wrap and don.
  • Remove gloves from outer folds of wrap.

  • Aseptically unfold wrap to expose insertion dressing kit components to create sterile field.
  • Aseptically open sterile field SF saline syringe and any supplementary sterile components and drop onto sterile field.
  • Don sterile prep gloves.
  • Aseptically drape site with sterile drape to create sterile field.
  • Prepare insertion site using ChloraPrep Solution One-Step applicator. Consult the supplied manufacturers instructions for details, if needed.
  • Remove and discard gloves.
  • Don second pair of sterile gloves.
  • Aseptically prepare the Safety Infusion Set.
  • Insert the needle into the port using aseptic technique. Consult the supplied Safety Infusion
  • Set device instructions for details if needed.
  • Secure device (use sterile gauze and adhesive strips if applicable) and apply sterile occlusive transparent dressing per institutional policy.
  • At the end of the procedure, remove gloves and dispose of used materials per institutional protocol.
