Ethicon PSE45A - STAPLER, PWRD ECH FLEX 45MM 34CM SHAFT, EACH

ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler. Compression with stability. Power with control.

Greater stability for potentially less tissue trauma

  • Minimizing inadvertent movement at distal tip in tight spaces and at awkward angles.
  • Ensures optimal control and protection while working on critical structures, potentially resulting in less trauma.
  • Allows an average of 88% less movement at the end effector during transection of thick tissue.
  • Allows an average of 83% less movement at the end effector during transection of vessels.

Surgeon-controlled power

  • Manual closure allows precise placement on target tissue and tactile feedback as device is closed.
  • Manual override provides full surgeon control in the event of a power loss.
  • Knife reverse feature allows pause or reverse firing at any time, and there will always be staples beyond the cut line.

Enhanced system-wide compression

  • Compression before firing gently exudes fluid from targeted tissue before firing.
  • Alignment during firing ensures a uniform distance between the anvil and cartridge surfaces during firing.
  • Proper staple formation is necessary to achieve a leak resistant and hemostatic staple line.

Surgeons seek to minimize movement of endoscopic stapling devices during transection to protect targeted and surrounding fragile organs and tissue. The ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler combines a smooth, consistent firing stroke with virtually effortless firing to maintain stability at the tip. This reduced force to fire leads to less movement of the tip on or near vital structures during transaction, potentially resulting in less trauma.

Compression before firing

The entire ECHELON FLEX platform gently exudes fluid from targeted tissue before firing.

  • This brings tissue to a compressed thickness appropriate for uniform hemostatic staple line.
  • The anvil is designed to compress tissue over the recommended 15-second period prior to firing.

Alignment during firing

The 3-point gap control mechanism of the entire ECHELON FLEX platform provides uniform distance between the anvil and cartridge surfaces during firing. This is achieved by maintaining 3 separate points of alignment as the knife travels from the proximal end to the distal tip.

  • Once the appropriate cartridge for the compressed tissue thickness is loaded, the gap between anvil and cartridge remains consistent during firing.
  • Powered ECHELON FLEX allows surgeons to reduce tip movement an average of 88% on thick tissue compared with EndoGIA.
  • Powered ECHELON FLEX allows surgeons to reduce tip movement an average of 83% on vessels compared with EndoGIA.
