IV3000 Moisture Responsive Cannula Dressing

IV3000 is a moisture responsive transparent film dressing specifically designed to meet the needs of catheter fixation and to keep the catheter site dry. Independent clinical experts have proven IV3000 to offer safe, secure and cost effective catheter fixation and believe it to be a technological advance for IV site care.

  • Moisture responsive high MVTR 1 film
  • Low allergy grid pattern adhesive
  • Transparent, waterproof and conformable
  • 1 Hand delivery system
  • Film acts as a barrier to bacteria including MRSA 2

Benefits

Prevents moisture accumulation to reduce risk of infection
The Reactic* film in IV3000* has a unique molecular structure which is significantly more permeable to water vapour than ordinary films. This prevents the accumulation of moisture underneath the dressing so reducing the risk of bacterial growth and the risk of catheter-related infection.

Minimises unscheduled dressing changes
The higher permeability of IV3000* keeps the skin drier so improving dressing adherence and reducing the number of unscheduled dressing changes.

Greater patient comfort
IV3000* is kind to the patient's skin. Its low allergy adhesive and highly permeable Reactic film help prevent skin maceration or irritation and result in improved patient comfort.

Excellent catheter stability
The highly conformable IV3000* film allows the patient to move freely and yet will remain firmly adhered around the catheter hub so ensuring excellent fixation.

Convenient visual inspection
IV3000* is transparent and so allows regular inspection of the catheter insertion site for signs of infection or phlebitis without the need for dressing removal.

Waterproof barrier
IV3000 is waterproof and allows the patient to bathe or shower with the dressing in situ.

Easy application and removal
IV3000* is designed to provide easy aseptic application and removal. Its unique grid pattern adhesive reduces pain on removal due to grid adhesive spread and so minimises patient discomfort on removal. It also leaves less adhesive residue on the patient's skin.

Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR)

- WHEN IN CONTACT WITH FLUID (IN-VITRO)

IV3000 offers an average moisture vapor transmission rate when in contact with fluid over five times that to the nearest competitor. The high MVTR of IV3000 is designed to keep moisture levels under the dressing to a minimum.

Advantages

Giving More to You and Your Patients

For You

  • Ward educational packages and animated tools to make application training straightforward
  • Support from clinical specialists to answer complex questions on IV site care
  • Visual infusion phlebitis scoring tools to help you spot inflamed blood vessels before they become a problem

For Your Patients

  • IV3000 dressings are waterproof so patients needn't remove them every time they want a shower
  • Our low allergy, non-irritating adhesive is easy to remove, allowing greater patient comfort
  • Long-lasting dressings mean fewer uncomfortable dressing changes

An IV-Site That Protects Your Budget Too

Catheter-related bloodstream infections cost around 6,000 per infection to treat. Reducing bacterial propagation near the IV site is one way of reducing this risk. Another way is to limit exposure of the IV site to the surrounding environment.

IV3000 dressings can be kept in place for up to seven days, meaning fewer dressing changes and less chance of bacterial infection.

  • Creates less need for dressing changes, reducing nursing time
  • Minimises potential for catheter dislodgement, which can help avoid the extra expense of re-cannulating a patient
